VJJA President Beth Stinnett is scheduled to speak at the Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) sponsored conference, “Investing in Our Children: Emerging Reforms in Juvenile Justice”, slated for April 25-29, 2008, in Washington, D.C. The conference is designed to: highlight the work of the State Advisory Groups (SAGs) in leading and/or sustaining juvenile justice reform efforts, increase understanding of what it takes to initiate, lead and sustain reform efforts at all levels of government and through public/private partnerships, demonstrate the cost effectiveness of investments in family and community-based services to reduce over-reliance on incarceration and/or reduce/eliminate racial/ethnic disparities and DMC in the juvenile justice system, and explore ways to deepen reform efforts within jurisdictions by re-deploying resources and/or creatively engaging multiple funding sources. Stinnett will join a panel in a discussion on “SAG Leadership in Reform Efforts”.
