VJJA members (particularly those from the Valley District) will recognize the name Johnny "Booster" Wheeler. Sadly, Mr. Wheeler passed away on June 27 after a long illness. He was 60. While employed at Natural Bridge Learning Center and later Natural Bridge Juvenile Correctional Center, Mr. Wheeler was long active in VJJA. This picture of Booster was taken at VJJA's 2002 Fall Juvenile Justice Institute, the last he attended. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.
