Jackson Named DJJ Juvenile Correctional Officer of the Year
A long time member of VJJA’s Capital District, Mr. Laverne Jackson, was recently awarded the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Juvenile Correctional Officer of the YearAward. Mr. Jackson began his service with the DJJ in 1979 at the Hanover Learning Center. After leaving to fulfill a sense of duty to serve in the US Military, Jackson returned to Hanover, working first as a Juvenile Correctional Officer and later as a Cottage Manager and Correctional Assistant to the Department of Correctional Education. Officer Jackson now works at the DJJ’s Reception & Diagnostic Center (RDC) as a Juvenile Correctional Officer Senior.
