Maclam Chosen as DJJ Health Service Employee of the Year
Valley District member Carolyn Maclam has been awarded the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Health Services Employee of the Year Award. Ms. Maclam has been employed as a Registered Nursed at Culpeper Juvenile Correctional Center since August 2003. In that role she manages the Medical Department which provides routine medical care, emergency care, eye examinations, dental services, psychiatric care, and periodic immunizations. In addition to her regular duties, Nurse Maclam was instrumental in the revision of her institution’s Medical Institutional Operating Procedures. Under her leadership the medical department has received high marks during audits. Carolyn serves as an on-call resource to her staff and has been an advocate for on-going professional development training for her staff.
