Jim Rankin, Director of the 31st District Court Service Unit, has been elected to a two-year term as President of the Virginia Court Service Unit Directors’ Association (CSUDA). He takes over the helm from outgoing President Ronald Belay. A long time VJJA member, Jim graduated from Madison College (now James Madison University) in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in social work. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Administration of Justice and Public Safety from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1971, Jim began employment as a juvenile probation officer for Prince William County. After serving in many different capacities, he was promoted to Assistant Director in 1982 and CSU Director in 1992. In 2005, Jim was presented VJJA’s Meritorious Service Award in the Area of Administration. Joining Mr. Rankin as officers in the CSUDA are Vice President Rod Jones, 26th District CSU, and Secretary/Treasurer Kay Frye, 14th District CSU.
