To highlight the release of the 2008 KIDS COUNT Data Book, the Annie E. Casey Foundation hosted a congressional briefing on Capitol Hill. The briefing featured a panel of juvenile justice experts to discuss key issues in the field and recommendations for reform. The panel of experts, moderated by Angela Arboleda of the National Council of La Raza, included Grace Bauer, Families and Friends of Louisiana's Incarcerated Children; Reginald Dwayne Betts, Poet and Activist, formerly incarcerated at Age 16; Judge Jerrauld C. Jones, Chief Judge, Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court; Dr. Juan Sánchez, Executive Director & CEO, Southwest Key Programs; and Vincent Schiraldi, Director, District of Columbia Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.
