Stinnett

Stinnett has been employed in the criminal and juvenile justice fields for more than 15 years, currently working in administration for the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Division of Community Programs.  Among her responsibilities is serving as the State JDAI Coordinator.  A VJJA member since interning with the 25th District Court Service Unit in 1990, Stinnett recently completed her first two-year term as VJJA President.  Prior to that time she served as state secretary for 4 years.  She has also served as webmaster and Valley district secretary, and was instrumental in planning the first, “VJJA Day at the General Assembly”.  Under her leadership the association has grown to include more than 1000 professionals from nearly every agency and organization in the Commonwealth serving court-involved children and the Fall Institute has evolved into a venue offering an expanded format and nationally-recognized speakers.  There has also been a renewed commitment in the area of child advocacy and increased legislative activity, to include the passage of HB3007 in 2007.  Stinnett holds a master’s degree in Crimninal Justice Management.  She and her husband Dave, and a chocolate lab named Yaz, make their home in Glen Allen.
