Telsch has been actively involved in VJJA, serving most recently as the association’s Secretary. He brings a wealth of experience to the Board having worked for more than 30 years in the Virginia Departments of Welfare and Institutions, Corrections, and Juvenile Justice. He is currently employed as a Probation Supervisor. Previously he served as an Assistant Superintendent at the Natural Bridge Juvenile Correctional Center. Ron is the author of Three-Fifths Freedom, a historical fiction. Currently he is working on the sequel to that novel, The Crossroads Impasse, and two plays: a comedy loosely based on his experiences in Institutional Services, entitled pUBLIC SAFETy and, a drama, based on the death of Socrates, with a working title of Socrates Rules. He also writes a regular column in the association’s quarterly journal, The Advocate. Telsch holds a Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He lives in Rockbridge County with his wife Robin, a psychologist at Natural Bridge JCC, and the youngest of their five children.
