Dear Conference Participants:
Thank you for attending the 2005 VJJA
Fall Training Institute, held November
2-4, 2005, at the Cavalier Hotel
in Virginia Beach.
Over 340 juvenile justice professionals and nearly 50 Exhibitors participated
in the annual event. Among the participants were probation staff, correctional center workers, detention counselors, CSA Coordinators, educators, mental health professionals, state policy makers, community-based providers, group home workers, local government officials & more. The diversity among the participants greatly enhanced the event and created opportunitites for learning that extended far beyond the traditional workshop platform.
CONTINUED LEARNING
Throughout the conference we heard from experts in the areas of gender responsive programming, graduated sanctions, evidence-based strategies, structured decision-making, adolescent brain development, detention reform and more. Each of the speakers referenced on-line resources. Participants interested in continued learning are encouraged
