Evaluation of G.R.E.A.T. a school-based gang prevention strategy taught to middle school students: A five-year longitudinal evaluation shows the Gang Resistance Education and Training has modest positive effects on adolescents’ attitudes and delinquency risk factors, but no effects on their involvement in gangs and actual delinquent behaviors. http://www.ncjrs.org/txtfiles/167264.txt

The Department of Justice announces the activation of its National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR) Web site, which provides real-time access to public sex offender data nationwide with a single Internet search. The ARC (Accessing Resources for Community and Faith-Based Organizations) Initiative has added the Federal Funding Toolkit to its interactive learning resources. The Advancement Project has released a new schoolhouse to jailhouse report examining zero tolerance policies, the role of law enforcement in schools, and the disproportionate impact of these practices on racial and ethnic minority students.  The report is available online at: http://www.advancementproject.org.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation announced the release of the 2005 KIDS COUNT Data Book and online database. Data from the 2005 KIDS COUNT Data Book are now available in their easy-to-use, powerful online database, " State Level Data Online ", which allows you to generate custom graphs, maps, ranked lists, and state-by-state profiles; or, download the entire data set as delimited text files. Pull down menus also allow you to read the book online or view the book in PDF format.
